Six in Spain: PSG sends a message

The back-to-back champions aren’t slowing down. Paris Saint-Germain went to Villarreal on Tuesday and won 6-0, scoring four goals in the first 17 minutes. Their perfect start to the season continues.

It was a big night for Europe’s heavyweights. Bayern won in Madrid, Barcelona cruised, Inter rolled, and Manchester United pulled off a comeback that Old Trafford will be talking about for a while.

The big games

Villarreal 0-6 PSG. João Neves opened the scoring in the 9th minute, Désiré Doué and Senny Mayulu struck in quick succession, and Fabián Ruiz made it 4-0 by the 17th minute. Ruiz added another after halftime. It was over before most fans found their seats.

Atlético Madrid 0-2 Bayern Munich. After two straight draws, Bayern finally got three points. Teenager Lennart Karl scored in the 54th minute after a defensive mistake, and Konrad Laimer sealed it in the 74th, set up by Harry Kane.

Manchester United 3-2 Roma. United hadn’t won since Matchday 1 and fell behind 2-0 at Old Trafford. Then they stormed back, with Matheus Cunha scoring twice late to complete the comeback. They finished with 10 men after a red card and still held on.

Barcelona 3-0 Aston Villa. Villa came in with more points than Barcelona and left with nothing. Barcelona controlled it from start to finish.

Feyenoord 0-3 Inter. Yann Bisseck, Francesco Pio Esposito and Piotr Zieliński scored as Inter cruised in Rotterdam.

The league phase picture

Remember, there are no groups anymore. Since 2024, all 36 teams sit in one big table. The top eight go straight to the Round of 16, teams ranked 9th through 24th go to a playoff round, and the bottom 12 are out.

PSG’s perfect start keeps them near the top. Bayern’s win gets them back on track after two draws, and United’s comeback keeps them in the playoff race.

Matchday 4 continues Wednesday with Liverpool at Fenerbahçe, Real Madrid at AEK Athens, Manchester City at RB Leipzig, and Arsenal at Slavia Prague.

Your call

PSG looks unstoppable again. So tell me in the comments: can anyone stop them from winning a third straight title, or is this the year someone finally knocks them off?
